What HuntGrid Fishing gives you for free
Lake depth maps
Depth shading, contours in feet or metres and the depth under your finger, with each survey’s source and date.
Can I fish here?
Tap a lake or river for public access and the access law in plain words, each with its source. When we don’t know, it says Unknown.
Your spots and catches
Spots with depth, bottom, cover, species and best conditions, and a catch log, private unless you share them.
One account with HuntGrid Hunt
Hunt and fish with one free account and one sign-in, on every device.
Offline lakes
Download a lake with its depth and access and use it with no signal: 3 areas in the free plan.
Can I keep it?
Fish Check gives the size and bag limits at that water on that day, with the official source.
Switching

Export your waypoints
On a computer, sign in to the onX web map, select the waypoints you want to keep and export them as a GPX or KML file. The help page in HuntGrid Fishing shows how.
Import it into HuntGrid Fishing
Create a free account, open My maps → Import and pick the file. You see what’s in it and choose what to keep before anything is saved.
Add what you know
Open a spot to add its depth, bottom, cover, species and best winds and months. Your spots stay private.
What HuntGrid Fishing doesn’t do yet
Better you hear it here than find out on the water.
No App Store or Google Play app
HuntGrid Fishing installs from the browser for now, on iPhone, Android and computers.
Depth isn’t on every lake
Depth shows only where a government agency has published a lake survey that we’ve loaded. Elsewhere the map shows no depth rather than a guess.
