Today
Which stand should I hunt today?
Open Today before you leave the house and HuntGrid answers the morning question: is it worth going, and where do I sit? It shows the next sit with its light and weather, then ranks your own stands by how well the forecast wind fits each one.

One screen for the next sit
Today is a tab on phones and sits in the side bar on computers. Everything on it is worked out on your device from the forecast, the sun and moon, and the stands you saved.
The next sit
This morning, this evening or tomorrow morning: the window around first or last light, with sunrise, sunset and the day’s solunar rating.
Legal shooting light
Where the state or province’s legal-hours rule is on file, the sit shows when legal light starts and ends at that spot. How legal hours work.
Wind and weather for the sit
Wind direction and speed, temperature and rain for those hours, with a 1 to 5 hunt score and its plain reasons: wind, pressure trend, a temperature drop, rain or snow, solunar periods.
Your stands, ranked
Up to 8 of your stands within 80 km (50 miles), each scored with the forecast for its own spot, then by wind fit (good, so-so, wrong or none set), then by distance.
Straight to the map
Tap a stand and it opens on the map, ready for a scent cone or directions from where you are.
Pack your gear
A link at the bottom opens your gear checklists, so nothing stays in the truck.
How to set it up
Get a ranking you can trust in three steps
Mark your stands
Drop each tree stand, ladder or blind on the map with a stand icon, or import them from another app.
Tick each stand’s good winds
Edit a stand and tick the wind directions that carry your scent away from where deer come from. Without them, a stand is still ranked on the weather, just not on the wind.
Open Today
Today works near your GPS position, or near the middle of the map if location is off, so you can plan a sit at camp from home.
Good to know
No signal at camp?
Today uses the last forecast your phone saved for each spot, or the forecast saved with an offline area nearby. Sun, moon and legal light are always worked out on the phone.
A forecast is not the wind at your tree
The forecast covers a cell a few kilometres wide. Ridges, draws and timber bend it, so check it at the stand. How to pick a stand for the wind.
Want a nudge instead?
Wind-right alerts tell you when the wind suits one of your stands with a strong score. Wind and scent tools.
Check your local regulations: seasons, legal hours and where you may hunt are set by your state or province, and the official regulations always have the final word.
Questions

How do I know which stand to hunt today?
Hunt the stand where today’s wind carries your scent away from where deer come from, in the window when they move. HuntGrid’s Today screen does that comparison for you: it takes the forecast for the next dawn or evening sit and ranks your stands by their hunt score and how well the wind fits the good winds you set for each one.
What is a hunt score?
A 1 to 5 rating for a dawn, midday or evening window, from the forecast: wind fit for the stand, calm or strong wind, the pressure trend, a temperature drop, rain or snow, and solunar periods near first and last light. Every score lists its reasons.
Does it work without cell service?
Mostly. The ranking runs on your phone from the last forecast saved for each stand or with a nearby offline area, and sun, moon and legal light are calculated on the phone. A fresh forecast needs a connection.
Do I need to set good winds on my stands?
It’s what makes the ranking useful. Stands without good winds are still listed and scored on the weather, marked “No winds set”, and the screen reminds you to add them.
Is the Today screen free?
Yes. Today, the hunt score, the scent cone and wind alerts are all in the free plan, on your phone and your computer.
