Alberta hunting map

Plan your Alberta hunt on one map: Crown land, hunting units, wind, weather and legal light, on your phone and computer, and offline where there's no signal.

What HuntGrid shows in Alberta

  • Crown land and protected areas

Protected areas from the Canadian Protected and Conserved Areas Database (CPCAD) and Indigenous lands, plus Public Land Use Zones and Métis settlements.

  • Hunting units

HuntGrid shows Wildlife Management Units (WMUs), special licence draw areas and cougar areas on the map, and you can download a whole unit for offline use.

  • Access programs

Alberta Conservation Association and Ducks Unlimited conservation sites are on the map, so you can find private land opened to hunters under the program's own rules.

  • Seasons and legal light

A season calendar from Alberta's official dates, shown once a person has checked them against the regulations, plus legal shooting hours with a countdown where the rule is checked. Solunar table for Alberta.

  • Wind, scent and weather

Hourly wind and a scent cone for every stand, a daily hunt score, radar, official weather alerts and wildfire smoke.

  • Offline maps

Download the parts of Alberta you hunt and use the map, your pins and the forecast with no signal.

Official hunting regulations for Alberta

Hunting in Alberta is regulated by the Alberta Forestry and Parks. Seasons, bag limits, legal hours, licences and where you may hunt are set there, and they change every year.

HuntGrid isn't affiliated with the Alberta Forestry and Parks. Every answer in the app shows its source and date, and the official regulations always have the final word.
