Hunt as a group
A hunting group app for your camp, club or party
One shared map for your camp: everyone’s stands, trails and boundaries, quick check-ins, location sharing only when each hunter turns it on, and a hunt plan that emails your contacts if you’re not back on time.

Everything the camp needs to share
Built for deer camps, moose and elk parties, waterfowl crews and clubs that hunt the same ground year after year.
Shared group maps
Group folders for stands, blinds, trails, boundaries and sightings, with “Added by” on each item. Changes sync to every member, and items save offline like your own.
Roles and invites
Invite by email, link or QR code. Owners and admins manage the group, members add their own things, and viewers only look.
Check-ins
Tap “I’m OK”, “Heading back” or “Need help”. “Need help” shows your local emergency number first, with a button to call it.
Live location, your choice
Share your position with the group for 1 hour, 4 hours or until you stop, never more than a day. A bar on every screen reminds you it’s on, with Stop.
Activity feed
See who added, changed or removed what on the group map, so nobody wonders where a new stand came from.
Your journal stays yours
Harvests, hunts and tracks stay in your personal journal. Leave a group and you can keep a copy of its maps.

Safety
Leave a hunt plan before you go
Tell one to three people where you’re going and when you’ll be back. If you don’t tap “I’m back” in time, they get an email with your plan and your last known location.
- Where you’re going (a place from your maps or where you are now), who’s with you, the vehicle and a back-by time with a grace period.
- The alert is sent from our servers when you’re overdue, so it goes out even when your phone has no signal.
- Running late? Add 30, 60 or 120 minutes in one tap, or cancel the plan.
- Contacts don’t need an account: their link shows the plan and the last position on a map.
- Plans are deleted 30 days after you create them.
HuntGrid isn’t an emergency service. In an emergency, call your local emergency number. The last known location is only as recent as the last time your phone had signal with HuntGrid open.
How to set it up
Set up your camp in five minutes
Create the group
Open Groups, choose New group and give it a name. Its shared “Group map” folder appears right away.
Invite the crew
Send invites by email, or show a QR code at camp. Links expire after 1, 7 or 30 days.
Move your maps in
Move or copy a folder of stands into the group, or import the camp’s GPX file.
Agree on check-ins
Decide who shares their location and when, and have everyone leave a hunt plan for long walks.
The free plan lets you create up to 3 groups of your own. Groups, check-ins and live location need a connection; what’s shared on the group map stays on your phone offline.
Questions
Still have a question? Read the help pages or email support@huntgrid.net.
Can my hunting party see each other’s location?
Only if each hunter turns sharing on, for 1 hour, 4 hours or until they stop (at most a day), and only while their phone has a connection. Members who share appear on the group map with their name and when they were last seen.
What happens if I don’t come back from a hunt on time?
If you left a hunt plan, your one to three contacts get an email with the plan and your last known location once your back-by time and grace period have passed. Contacts with a HuntGrid account also get a notification.
Is HuntGrid an emergency or SOS app?
No. Check-ins and hunt plans help the people you trust know where you are, but HuntGrid isn’t an emergency service and can’t send anything from a phone with no signal. In an emergency, call your local emergency number.
Can group members see my harvests?
No. Harvests, hunts and tracks always stay in your personal journal. Only the things you save into the group’s folders are shared.
How many groups can I create for free?
Up to 3 groups of your own on the free plan, each with its shared maps, invites, check-ins and live location.
Does everyone need an account?
Group members do; it’s free. Hunt plan contacts don’t: they get a link by email. You can also share a read-only map of a folder or a waypoint with a link, with the exact location hidden by default.
